NRL 2008 - Give us your Round 4 wrap-up

How will your team fare in 2008? Who will be the dark horses... who are a sure thing for the wooden spoon?
Jimmy Smith and Maroon from The Monday Night call team have given their thoughts - their money will be on Panthers and Raiders to be the basement dwellers. Roosters and Sharks could prove to be darkhorses, while the Storm look unstoppable.

I'm sick of hearing about how well Souths will go this season. It's all a bit of emporers new clothes with Armani suits.
If Roy Asotasi gets injured then it'll be all over for the Bunny boys.
Top three this season will be Storm, Manly and... Sharks!
I'm a dogs fan by the way.

As a Sharks fan, I don't want the semi finals. I want the GF! But I don't know if it can be done.
On paper, The Sharks look excellent. On field, they're a different story.
It's make or break for Kimmorley. The team could go further if 100% and not playing in Origin.
Bird and Gallen are needed for the Sharks to succeed as well.

I agree with the legendary Marty. It's the Mighty Mighty Eels all the way this season!

Two Words - GREEN MACHINE!

Go ahead lads, blow your dosh on betting on the Panthers to pick up the dreaded spoon again. The boys from the West will rise again- granted they may not take the trophy but they'll fair better than many expect. As for the spoon- look no further than the Tigers!

OK. Here are my predictions people (got 83% right last year, and 81% the year after).
BRONCOS: Will start off slow and work their way up to 8th on the ladder.
BULLDOGS: Will be a letdown by the likes of Mason but should be a threat to competitors, but I still think they will come 9th.
COWBOYS: I think this side will finish 7th on the table. They have a good side this year.
DRAGONS: Will end the year at 13th but will win some tough games.
EELS: Have what it takes to be premiership contenders. A good young pack of players. Might be 2nd.
KNIGHTS: 15th on the ladder. This is a tough one though.
PANTHERS: 14th even though they gained a few good players.
RABBITOHS: Will be a smart and co-operative in 2008 and I think will finish 6th.
RAIDERS: Might get the wooden spoon - 15th.
ROOSTERS: Will finish 6th. They have recruited well.
EAGLES: Finish 3rd. No doubt this team would come into the league looking for vengance over the Storm.
SHARKS: Poor squad in 2008 - 16th.
STORMS: They have lost some good players but still will be a tough team in 2008 and are looking for their 2nd year in a row. 1st.
TIGERS: I honestly can say that I have no clue how this team will go but 50/50 chance in the top 8.
TITANS: 5th. They have a good team this year.
WARRIORS: 4th. They are seeking to get another grand final shot after they were put away by the Eels.
I WONDER HOW MUCH PERCENT I'LL GET DIS YEAR?:d

SHARKS will win the premiership for sure. They look excellent on paper.
Posted by Rexy Monday 10 March, 2008 04:46 PM
WEST TIGERS: They look like a very healthy side and if Brett and Benji are fully fit for 2008 they should take the Tigers to the finals!
Oh and the Tigers WILL come 5th.
Posted by jake hodge Monday 10 March, 2008 06:33 PM
The Tigers will have a solid season. I believe that they can win the BIG ONE!!!!

See Jimmy & Maroon are hoping that people will write in saying that Souths will be on top of the ladder. A desperate attempt from two supporters of a DUMP of a team. Maroon, Jimmy, Souths will be back on the bottom of the ladder where they spent many a season before.

Marty, the only chance your Parraletic mob have is if the barman doesn't yell "Last Drinks!".
Go the Mighty Rabbitohs.
Posted by Shane Drum Tuesday 11 March, 2008 11:46 AM
WTF? Why don't you just call MMM the home of the Roosters! I'm sick of hearing about them.
BTW Wil - Fittler is a Penrith boy, not a Roosters legend!
Posted by john Wednesday 12 March, 2008 04:42 PM
Let me guess John - you're a Rabbitohs supporter?
I tell you what - I'm sick of hearing about them! The Red & Green are the new silvertails!

The Eels are really looking like they will be the team to beat this year if we can stay off the turps.
Wooden spoon will go to the Sharks, famous only for an Amco Cup victory many years ago.
Looking forward to a great footy year and go the Blues!

Manly Sea Eagles - hands down. They're gonna kick serious butt this year BRING IT ON!
Posted by Northern Beaches Chick Friday 14 March, 2008 11:41 AM
Dragons should get in the top 8 at least.
Go the Dragons!!!!

As a long suffering St George supporter I've just about had enough.
After another insipid performance against theTigers it's time to take some tough decisions.
Sack Ryles - he gives away countless penalties to gift the opposition scoring oportunities.
Sack Cooper - I don't think he has any idea how to draw and pass.
Hornby is a fullback not a five-eighth.
Brown needs to lift and coach the team to get some sort of attacking structure.
Sack the retention committee who were responsible for lettting go Bailey, Kite, Patten, Millard, Wicks, Sims, Waggon, Riddell, White, Holdsworth, Barrett, and a thousand others.
Posted by Doug Fraser Monday 17 March, 2008 11:39 AM
I can't believe all you so called ST George supporters have written your team off after only round one.
Dry your eyes. Give them at least till round three until you write them off.
Go The mighty Sharks.

Melbourne Storm will playoff against the Brisbane Broncos again.
Posted by Luke Monday 17 March, 2008 01:56 PM
Ok, now I believe this Odie guy is a Sharks fan. Need I say more.
Posted by Beccas Tuesday 18 March, 2008 09:50 AM
The mighty BRISBANE BRONCOS will vs the Storm in the grand final.
BRISBANE BRONCOS 2008 NRL PREMIERS!
Posted by Jaimi Lee Tuesday 18 March, 2008 03:36 PM
Mighty Rabbitohs will bounce back from Sydney Roosters thuggery (dirty cocks!!!!) and storm home to take the centenary premiership.
Because everybody knows that when Souths are going well, rugby league is doing well...
Posted by geoff wesley Wednesday 19 March, 2008 05:10 PM
Now you can tell Beccas girl is a Souths fan cause she is stupid! I am a Manly Fan.

Storm are looking like top 8 Pretenders and cellar dwellers after losing to the Sharks in round 2.
Knights to win the Premiership in 2008 after being 2 from 2 in 2008!
Posted by lachlan Monday 24 March, 2008 07:19 PM
Lachlan you are an idiot. How can Melbourne be pretenders for losing one game by one point.
Oh by the way, Newcastle wouldn't have a hope in hell of beating the Sharks anyway.
So forget about the premiership cos the Knights are not in the same league as Melbourne and Cronulla.

Brisbane too fast, too fit, too furious.

"They'll (Dragons) put a 100 on Canberra next week - did anyone see the Penrith game?" - Phil Gould
"Their fowards (Dragons) will have too much for em (Canberra) and with Cooper and Gasnier out wide they'll flog 'em." - Phil Gould

Just what is wrong with the Dragons?
How could they play so badly against the Raiders after their improved effort against the Titans last week?
Posted by Dave Monday 31 March, 2008 10:50 AM
I think the bunnies outfit belongs in the movies(deliverence). the shirt blends into the shorts and it looks like they're wearing bib and brace overalls.
the bulldogs are a bunch of no names but they all have heart so watch out for them.
the storm are in for problems this year, my tip is they wont make the 4.
my tip for the gf is bronco's warriors.
courtney said bulldogs rock my socks.

I heard a news report saying Wayne Bennett is gonna be the new coach of the Dragons! Is this true?
Posted by Dave Tuesday 1 April, 2008 09:09 AM
Titans for the 8. They are certainties.
Six of their first 9 games are at home and in four of those 6 home games the teams they are playing has travelled interstate the previous and usually on a short-turn around.
I hope this good fortune in the draw balances out in the second half of the season.

I watched a team of men throw away a game they should have had won with 20 minutes to go. St George will be lucky this year to win a sausage at a meat raffle.
Apart from a new coach we should be looking for a new front rower thank you Jason Ryles, and can someone please tell Gaz that he can not kick! You think he would have learnt by now, and then teach him how to pass because Morris was open on the wing so many times and Gaz just kept trying that shimmy step of his (IT DIDN'T WORK THE FIRST 3 TIMES SO WHY WOULD YOU KEEP DOING IT?).
Lets clean our act up Dragons, please!
