Wil & Lehmo's 'Slabs to Abs' - How Did You Go?
Posted by Triple M Thursday 13 March, 2008 02:17 PM
Well today was a big day. I was up at four to do some work on my stand-up show, then had a 3-hour tele meeting, then into the radio, and then finally off to my stand-up show at the Opera House - so I disappointingly didn't manage to find time for some exercise.
And that's been the hardest part of this diet - fitting in exercise around your busy life. But the truth is I've been waiting 5-years for the perfect time to get fit, and while that perfect time never came I filled in the time eating Pringles and drinking Coke.
So, as hard work as it has been at some stages of the journey, I'm really glad we did it, and I am glad I pushed myself to find the time and committment (although I wonder how much weight I could have lost if I could have just given up that pesky booze!).
A massive thanks must go to Matt O'Neill who gave us (and you guys) plenty of amazing nutrition advice, and his passion for the whole project was amazing. He is a tops bloke, and if you want to get some nutrition advice his metabolic jumpstart is a great place to start.
The best thing about this whole diet was it didn't feel like a diet. We still drank coffee (just with Equal rather than sugar) we still drank Coke (just the zero variety) and I feel like I had plenty to eat. It's weightloss that you could actually sustain, rather than just go straight back to where we were before.
I weighed 94kgs at Christmas, after my relationship fell apart I tended to bury my pain in booze and food, and to be under 84kgs now and feeling back in control of my life and health a bit has been a really positive thing, and I want to thank you guys for all your support.
Also I want to thank the boys at TBC the gym I have been going to. Especially Nick and Atilla who have helped me train. If you are ever in Sydney around the Moore Park area drop in and check them out, because it's the first time I have ever enjoyed going to the gym.
I love it there, and I am getting addicted to the boxing. Who knows, maybe that bout with Shannon Noll will happen after all!
But enough about me, I want to hear about you guys. I know that there were a bunch of people who were doing the Slabs To Abs challenge with us. How have you gone? Did you lose weight? Have you been getting fitter? Or did you just give up? I have a few Team Ando t-shirts left for my favourite stories!

Well done mate, I have a fairly difficult time trying to get to the gym as well.
One trick I've found is to make myself go when I'm on the couch after a few busy days.
The more you go, the more energy you have and feel less inclined to laze around.
It was a major change in lifestyle for me, but I'm definitely reaping the rewards.
Well done to both you guys, congrats!

Yep, totally agree with the whole finding time to exercise part.
But I made the effort and feel heaps better for it.
I've been going to the gym twice a week for a number of months and feel heaps stronger and healthier, despite sneaking the occasional ciggie every now and then.

I don't really have any answers to your questions, but I've been following the 'Slabs to Abs' for a little while now and it's inspired me and another girl at work to do something about our weight.
Tomorrow we're starting our own weight loss challenge with a total 60.2 kilos to lose by the end of the year.
I know it's a long stretch but we're very optimistic and I've picked up heaps of tips from you guys that will help me kick her ass and win the prize at the end.
So I just wanted to thank you for that as well.
Also, Iooking forward to seeing Wil at the Comedy Fesitval in April!!

Wil & Lehmo - congratulations on your dedication.
As one of the owners of TBC at The Entertainment Quarter, Sydney, I was impressed with you motivation and dedication to your training.
We look forward to your company for the rest of the year.
Keep up the good work!

First time I looked at your pictures and the one thing I noticed was Lehmo is more handsome now than before the "Slabs to Abs" thing... maybe an idea not to have eaten that pizza!

Did you guys really have that much coffee with that little food?
I do that a bit myself being a guy who kinda hates eating, all I can say is I hope Wil you didn't get an important call while in the loo.
Oh and I agree. Beer is a dirty temptress stopping me from the perfect physique!

Wil looks great. In the photo with Paul McDermott he is positively skinny. Belt barely doing its job.
I feel great after the Slabs to Abs and am enjoying the gym as well.

I've just seen the weigh ins for Wil & Lehmo's weight loss effort - congratulations guys! You've done a fantastic job.
Slow down on the junk foods though or we'll be watching another comp. sometime in the near future... well done!!

OMG LEHMO! You are hot! You're a hottie! I've only ever seen a pic of you on an old billboard and to be honest I thought you were a short, stout, podgy little fella, but I just went through the gallery and bow chicka wa waaw!
Lehmo you are not bad to look at, at all! Wil, you're OK looking too.
