Dear Diary,
I'm very sad. . . . My best friend Lucinda has said that her family are going on a big holiday . . . . in two years time! They plan ahead. Not like our family.
Our family never get to go on holiday . . . mainly because there are four kids and we don't fit into the one car at the one time, so it makes it difficult, but also because the boys are really naughty and I'm sure mum and dad just can't be bothered taking us anywhere. It's just not fair.
So Lucinda and her family have booked their tickets already! They're going to Expo 88 in Brisbane. It's just been announced what is happening and it sounds amazing. So much to look forward to. Nothing like it has happened before here in Australia. There will be International pavilions that show off "stuff" from foreign countries as well as a monorail, and even stamps commemorating the event. And international, glamorous food like Pasta and pizza. How exotic.
They are going to drive their new Sigma! - to Queensland - and stay in motels with pools on the way. I'm so jealous. The only pool I get to go to is the Red Cliffs pool and the highlight of that day is having a musk stick and a packet of chickadee chips, lying on the hot cement and hoping my bathers don't stick, and maybe taking my towel and sitting in the back corner with Brett Pearce. And talking about how good chickadees are. And doing a pin drop from the diving board.
Better go. I've just heard a song by a new artist called John Farnham . . . . he sounds ok, but mum told me he had a song out years and years ago . . . . this is his comeback. I wonder if he'll do well?
