Guns 'n' Roses album out in August?
Posted by MMMusic Monday 30 June, 2008 12:37 PM
Maybe they just got excited with the recent leak and all, but Amazon UK has listed Guns 'n' Roses' forthcoming (and that's an under-statement) album Chinese Democracy as coming out August 25.
Don't get too excited. As gnrdaily.com point out, this is the fourth time they'll listed a date in the history of the album's 15-year incubation period, but it is the first time it's got its dedicated page.
Triple M got in touch with Universal Music, GNR's Australian label, and was promptly told "the only time I ever hear about Gunners is from you."
We're guessing they haven't heard anything then, although the source did reveal: "I'd say if it happens, it will be a rush release that we hear about 2 weeks in advance."
10 Things that have come out since GNR's last record
Fifteen years is a freaken long time in any business. To remind you just how far back in history it is, we thought we'd list ten things that have come out since 1993 - Chinese Democracy obviously not being one of them. Yes, you'll be astounded too!
10. The Friends TV series (yes, really, it came out in 1994)
9. Emos
8. The iPod
7. DVDs
6. Paris Hilton's 'film' career
5. The GST
4. "Climate Change"
3. Ellen DeGeneres
2. The Gladiators TV show (the first time around!)
1. Four albums from GNR guitarist Slash (two as Slash's Snake Pit, two from Velvet Revolver)
We wait with bated breath, Axl. Well, what's left after bating for so many years...

Hell yeah! Bring it on - let's get it out there so finally the waiting is over.

Who cares?! Axl has long exhaustedthe patience of his fans and treated them like utter dirt.
He's just a trivia question these days!

I really hope that 25 August is the delivery date. I agree with Philip - bring on Chinese Democracy! The tracks from the album that Axl performed live were pretty damn good...
Hopefully the album will bring Axl one step closer to reuniting with Slash and Duff....

I've heard the nine tracks that leaked last week and must say I'm impressed. It's different for sure but it still kicks ass.
Very very keen to hear the final product...

Gavin L can't be serious? Chinese Democracy will be a work of pure genius!

I'm not really a GnR fan but I'm keen to hear the new album. I do love singing their songs at karaoke....

Credit for the Amazon discovery goes to voiceoverthewall.com, not gnrdaily.com ( who reprinted the story from voiceoverthewall.com). In addition, this is the first time Amazon.COM has listed Chinese Democracy. AmazonUK has had a Chinese Democracy page for over a year.

I hear the album is actually 3-4 albums worth... look forward to hearing it in 2064!

I used to care i really did, but seeing them live last year with Axl and his ring-ins brought it all home for me. GNR will never be the band I used to love...

The August date has been there for months......ever since the last date they listed for February came and went. Really liked the songs he did with Sebastian Bach on his cd Angel Down last year though.

actually, the august date came after a December 2008 date. So they actually moved it from feb to march to dec to august.

Why bother?! If it's any good people will only download it anyway. Stop being a wanker axl, just release the album.

Why does he wave the guns n roses banner when he is the only original member still in the group?
Anyway this album just wont sound any good because slash isnt doing the guitar work on the album. So much money and time has already been spent on the album that it kind of reminds me of Waterworld and we all know how well that movie turned out...
