New Gunners to debut via video game

After the hysteria surrounding the leaked new Gunners tracks, it's been confirmed the first 'official' taster from the long-delayed Chinese Democracy is due out in September - via a video game!
But it won't be via regular single delivery on CD, cassette, or download - instead, it'll appear in the video game Rock Band 2.
According to an article in venerable broadsheet newspaper the New York Times, the song "Shackler's Revenge" will be the first taster to appear from Chinese Democracy.
Axl Rose's choice to officially unveil material from the band's loooooong-delayed sixth album via a computer game is an unusual one, but many pundits believe it will become an increasing regular occurrence as the music industry begins to recognise just how important music-related video games are.
Since its launch in 2007, Rock Band has cut a swathe through the video game industry, winning a clutch of awards and landed it's makers a cool US$208 million. Music by the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and the Who is currently available on the first version of the game, which allows players to form a virtual band and play along to famous songs.
Its biggest competitor is Guitar Hero, but surely the introduction of a new Gunners tune will see Rock Band 2 become the leader of the pack.
Do you think this will be a good way to hear the new Gunners material (in an official capacity)?
