When are you happiest to see The Police? Why, when they're on the television in front of you, of course!
Think less 'bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do' and more 'Rooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxannnnnnnnnne', with the legendary English three-piece due to unleash a live CD and DVD commemorating their recent reformation.
Skinsman Stewart Copeland has confirmed that two of the band's concerts in Buenos Aires in early December, 2007, were recorded for the album, with the double-disc set expected to be released later this year.
At the same time, the DVD will also appear, complete with an addtiional documentary about the reunion tour, titled Better Than Therapy. Sting's original working title of Better Than Transcendental Meditation and Reenacting the Karma Sutra Put Together was seemingly rejected by the other band members...
Keeping it all in the family (as they did with their tour, where Sting's son's band Fiction Plane were the opening support slot throughout their worldwide reformation tour), Copeland's son Jordan is the director of the doco.
The reformed Police will perform their last concert together August 7th at New York City's Madison Square Garden as a benefit for public television stations in New York. The band will host a number of eBay auctions featuring VIP ticket packages and autographed memorabilia, also benefitting public television.
