Who is the NRL's Most Overrated Player?

Willie Mason has topped Rugby League Week's list of the NRL's most overrated players.
Other players to make the list include Mark Gasnier and Storm forward Ryan Hoffman.
As per usual, the list has generated a stack of controversy. And while it does draw criticism, one thing is for sure: everyone has an opinion.
Which is why we wanna know who you think is the NRL's most overrated player?

Oh geez, there are so many:
Braith Anasta (Roosters): plays well at club level but never steps up.
Mark Gasnier (Saints): yes he's good, but not THAT good.
The NSW selectors - will they ever get it right?

It's not Willie Mason, and it's definitely not Ryan Hoffman.
The most overrated player is David Kidwell!

In his last 3 games he's proved that he can't tackle, can't kick, field placement is rubbish and now he can't even throw!!!
Tigers chose him over Hodgson??? What a load of rubbish!!!!

Benji for sure. He just can't avoid his injury run.
He most definitely can't tackle, throws the ball forward and then fires up at his mates.
I hope Brett 'Hodgo' Hodgson has a great career in England.

Hey guys, leave Benji Marshall alone. He's just coming back form injury and he isn't 100% yet. Yeah he has done stupid things but haven't we all?
I really hope that Brett Hodgson comes back to us after the 2 years cause we are going to miss him something shocking!!
All the footy players don't deserve half as much money as they get. $2 million that's a deadset joke. Footy isn't even a real job!

Players don't rate themselves... Benji and Mason are easy targets as the media painted their image, but their effort is always good - both on and off the field.

Well I don't think Benji is a bad player - I think he is a good player but he just can't tackle and stuff like that.
People, here is a question.
Do you think a player is a bad player if doesn't tackle, kick and stuff like that?
Well you're totally wrong. JT (Johnathan Thurston) can't tackle and he is one of the best players in the comp.
If you have a problem with that I'm fine with it.
But you can't say a player is bad because he can't tackel and stuff like that.
Yes Brett Hodgson is better than Benji but Benji is still an awesome player.

I'm not a big fan of Willie Mason by any stretch of the imagination, but he's a premiership winner, a Clive Churchill medallist, played a dozen or more Origins, and over 20 tests for Australia.
I'd be more than happy to be called over-rated with that sort of record.

Willie Mason is by far the biggest blouse the game as ever seen. He's wet, he's pathetic, he's a choker and he's the perfect motivation for any opposition to want to win - but for f***'s sake who in their right mind would ever want to lose to that tossbag?

GREG BIRD! Benji has moments of brilliance, Willie can occasionally walk over people, Greg Bird... ummm, he can run (slowly) through a massive gap that is made for him by someone like Kimmorley.

i think based on the money they earn and the way they perform, you can't go past Willie Mason, Benji Marshall, Greg Bird, and most of the senior Rabbitohs.

I think Nathan Hindmarsh from Parramatta is the most overrated player I have ever seen, plus he is an untidy grub on the field.

Gasnier is easliy the most overrated!!! He is useless at tackling ... just look at the State of Origins!!!

If it's past then I would say the most over rated player is Andrew Johns. He was good but not that good.
I would have to say that Mini (Anthony Minichiello) was a far better player (without injury) than Johns ever was.
It is the media hype that puts players up there, and Johns had and has plenty of fan fare around him.
The media are talking up some of the up and coming younger players, lets hope that they are sensible about what they say, because lets face it we all have those sorts of days where things just don't go to plan.
I would hate to think that these young guys would be bagged like some of our great players when they have an off day or two.

I think you all need to look at yourselves. All the players put their bodies on the line week in, week out, some have good weeks, some have bad weeks, but until you get out there and match it with them at least once, none of us have the right to deem someone as overrated as when a player has a game where they get everything right, we the fans expect that from them all the time.
Maybe we are putting too much pressure on players like Benji Marshall to come back too soon.
Darren Lockyer is having trouble getting back to his best after his injury this year. I dont hear anyone with the courage to say anything about him and his slow recovery.
You all need to get a life and just enjoy the game... The Greatest Game of All!!!

Benji Marshall? Come on guys, give him a break!
Yeah, he's crap sometimes but he is so hot and is better than most players like Ash Harrison and others.
I mean if I was older I would so be hanging of his finger tips. He is the hottest eva but I'm only 9 so forget that thought, but dont forget Benji!
