Are Coldplay "passion killers"?

Sex Pistol frontman John Lydon thinks so. The cranky old punk recently told Scottish newspaper The Daily Record the band were "passion killers in the extreme" and "the enemy" of music everywhere.

This isn't his first tirade aimed at the 'biggest band in the world' (pictured here at the Pemberton music festival in Canada last week). Backstage at the Isle of Wright festival in June, he spat:
"They are utterly humourless. I met them a few years ago, said hello and realised they were just men in anoraks... they looked like a gang of little poncy masturbators."
We doubt anyone will notice Lydon though. This is the man who recently called his own fans "poor bastards".
What do you think? Does he have a point or should he shut his trap?

I agree with Lydon although he's a tosser to the extreme.
I listened to Coldplay and it killed my passion so much I couldnt get it up for a week. They were that soft...

I really reckon Coldplay get a rough deal.. they dont walk around saying they're the biggest band in the world... the media do.
They're just a regular band that play great pop songs.
