I'm Not a Whinger But... Olympic Edition
Posted by Triple M Wednesday 20 August, 2008 02:15 PM
As Channel 7's coverage of the Games continues to feel the heat from peed off viewers, we pay a video tribute to those athletes who have also made Olympic history for all the wrong reasons.
Plus, we still wanna know what gets you peed off about the world's biggest sports carnival.
- Sports that don't deserve Olympic status
- Media coverage
- The ads
- The athletes
- The uniforms
There's probably a whole heap more that we haven't even covered, so what are you waiting for? FIRE UP!

Oh it's definitely the commentary!
I was watching the cycling the other night and the commentator was actually barracking for Australia - "Go, Go, Go..."
I'm all for going for Australia, but leave that to the fans in the stands (and the couch) - the commentators should be relatively neutral, surely?

I'm not a whinger, but I can't stand "Yum Cha" on Channel 7.
Worst. TV. Ever. If you've ever needed a clear example of pushing stereotypes and borderline rasicm then that's the show for you.

I'm not a whinger, but I'm sick to death of Channel 7's "glory montages" that they seem to show every 15 minutes.
I also can't stand all the advertisements that buy into the olympic spirit. There's only so much "olympic spirit" I can handle before I start to gag.

I'm not a whinger but... Softball is a ridicilous sport. Women should play Baseball just like men. Anyone can hit a soccer size ball with a bat for god's sake!

Me: you obviously have never played softball or you would know it's not like baseball.
Baseball throw the pitch over arm and softball is under arm and when it is coming at you at 100kms an hour I would like you to get a hit of it... I suppose you're into boxing cause it sounds like you've had your brain hit a few to many times...

It is ridiculous! Walking? What the hell is going on in my life? I have never seen something so boring in my life with so many more exciting spectator sports that are blossomming e.g. downhill mountain biking, kite surfing, wind surfing. So called sports like walking & synchronized swimming must be canned. What is the IOC smoking?

I'm not a whinger BUT... I'm sick of all the whinging about the olympics. WATCH ANOTHER CHANNEL, or go to the pub! I do.

Oh I want in on this... I'm not a big fat girly whinger, BUT - I cannot stand by any degree, stretch of imagination or hallucination - that awful, awful Johanna Griggs.
She makes me gag and she's everywhere! I'd turn off the telly but then she'd invade my playstation. YUK CHA.

i'm not a whinger but... thanks to Channel 7 for providing excellent coverage of a world class worldwide event, and giving us sporting commentary from the host of 'Temptation Island Australia' and 'The Great Outdoors'... they even managed to squeeze in a 'Daddo'!
Here's a thought, expand your talent base so you don't have to resort to the Griggsy's of the world... sorry I've already bagged her...

I don't think I'm a whinger BUT ... isn't the Olympics all about the athletes?
So what's with all the officials parading with the athletes during the opening ceremony?
Some countries only had 1 or two competitors but they still had 59,000 people walking behind their flag.

I'm not a whinger but I am sick of hearing the British athletes saying they are surprised at the crowds reaction - what did they think they would do? Boo them?

Mate the Olympic games were around long before Channel 7.
