Aussie acts team up for Easybeats tribute

Aussie legends The Easybeats will finally get the recognition they deserve with a new tribute album arriving next month.
Following in the steps of last year's Cold Chisel tribute Standing on the Outside, the Easy Fever album sees the cream of the Aussie crop covering the Easybeat's best known tunes.
Triple M got a sneaky preview of the album at Sydney's Albert Studios earlier this week and came away very impressed.
Highlights include The Living End's rockin' version of 'Guitar Band' and Grinspoon's slick take of 'St Louis', which will be the first song to radio.
Ben Lee covers the classic 'Friday on My Mind', Thirsty Merc play 'She's So Fine' joined by singer Rai Thistlethwayte's dad on guitar and pop twins The Veronicas put in a surprisingly decent version of 'Good Times'.
The Cruel Sea got back in the studio for the first time in an age to record 'Come and See Me', with Doc Neeson from The Angels on backing vocals. Apparently, he was recording in the studio next door and by the day's end, he was on the track.
Jimmy Barnes and Diesel join original Easybeat Stevie Wright on 'Mother Figure', an old Vanda and Young song from the late '70s which was never released, and Crowded House's Neil Finn was a last minute inclusion with her rendition of 'Women.'
In addition, the album will feature Evie parts 1-3 by Aussie supergroup The Wrights featuring Jet's Nic Cester, Bernard Fanning and Grinspooner Phil Jamieson, recorded back in 2004.
It's out October 4 release date and keep an eye out for Grinspoon and a few other bands doing interviews and live performances round that time. More details soon.

lIt's a shame most people have forgotten how great the Easybeats were. Looking forward to October 4...

Easybeats are brilliant and deserve a tribute album in their honour, but have a look at the tracklisting for this one! Grinspoon, Jet... BORING!
Then again, I can't really think of a tribute album that was good... except for Gunners Spaghetti Incident (which was terrific!).

Nice to have the Easybeats back on the radio - interesting selection of artists doing the covers - The Veronicas, don't see them making the radio playlist.
