Metallica go to war in new video
Posted by MMMusic Tuesday 2 September, 2008 05:44 PM

The band have just released the new video for their epic eight-minute single, 'The Day That Never Comes'.
It's set in the 'Middle East' with US troops hit by a roadside bomb. For a war video, the storyline, while topical, is kinda dull... and nothing compared to the explosions and narrative of Green Day's epic 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' clip (see below).
Watch it now and let us know what you think.
And now check out the Green Day clip...

Okay I hadn't heard the song till now and the song is awesome. I thought the car near the end of the clip was gonna be a car bomb woulda made the clip better had it been. But that doesn't take away from the song at all i epecially liked the last half of the song - the headbanging part of it lol...

WOW!!!! Those Monster Riffs by James, Rob and Kirk really remind me of the Metallica we have missed for 6 years.... bring on the 13th Of Sept, so I can go and buy the new CD.

Seeing the story is about forgiveness the climax of the film clip is very good.
It's very different to other film clips because it has been shot as a short film as opposed to a video clip..great stuff Metallica!!
Death Magnetic is the return fans have been wanting since Justice!

I can't believe the editor seriously put Green Day in the same Sentence as the mighty Metallica.
At least the Metallica video is "real", with purpose and doesn't need to be sensationalized and jump on any "popular" bandwagon to dress up an otherwise boring song such as Green Day.
